Dr. I. Leon Smith is President and Chief Executive Officer
of Professional Examination Service (PES), an office he has held since
January 1, 1998. Dr. Smith joined PES as a Division Director in 1979,
was promoted to Vice-President for Programs that same year, and subsequently
became Senior Vice-President in 1993.
Dr. Smith has a broad experience in managing large-scale examination
programs for licensure and certification organizations and in conducting
research
programs and policy studies. He is an acknowledged expert on credentialing
policy and practice and has presented and on issues related
to credentialing assessment.
