Standard setting. We are expert in applying a range of standard-setting methods to establish a defensible passing score for your examination.

All of our examination development is supported by an item banking system that can be tailored to your needs, and that can be adapted to allow test development activities to be conducted online.

Examination Administration

Our examination administration services are delivered by staff that is fully trained in the requirements of your program, and that is ready to provide first-class customer service to you and your candidates.

Application processing. Our data management systems can be tailored to your needs, whether you choose paper-based or web-based application processing.

Printing and production. We use state-of-the-art technologies to print examination materials on PES premises and on demand, thereby maximizing examination security and minimizing waste.

Paper-and-pencil administration. Our extensive network of certified testing professionals and examination sites, both domestic and international, provides flexibility in meeting your testing location and scheduling needs.

Computer-based administration. We have partnered with industry leaders in computer- and web-based examination delivery, to provide you with choices for the secure and reliable computer-based delivery of your examination.

Scoring and Statistical Services

PES's department of statistics offers a range of scoring and statistical services and is expert in the use of Item Response Theory as well as classical models.

Item analysis and test equating. We analyze raw scores from your examination to evaluate the psychometric quality of test items and forms. We statistically equate parallel test forms to a base form, to ensure the comparability of scores from different forms and the use of a consistent passing score over time.

Scoring and reporting. We score your examination and verify all scores before generating paper-based or online score reports that are customized to your needs and the needs of your stakeholders.

Technology-enabled services. We design and build score-reporting software that is tailored to the requirements of your program. We can provide online score reporting for candidates and other stakeholders, as well as specialized reports that allow you to conduct your own analysis of scores.
