New Group Will Focus on ProExam Suite Applications and ProExam Digital Micro-Credentials

NEW YORK – April 16, 2013-- Professional Examination Service, the most experienced organization in professional licensure and certification services, today announced the creation of its Digital Products Group and named veteran executive Simmy Ziv-el as its Vice President and General Manager.

ProExam's new Digital Products Group is responsible for the applications in the ProExam Suite, a complementary set of software products which streamline, and improve the efficiency of, developing and maintaining credentialing programs. The applications cover tasks ranging from item development and banking to candidate management and test administration. Two new products in ProExam Suite, ProExam Write and ProExam Track, have been launched since the first of the year.

Ziv-el will also oversee the ProExam Digital Micro-Credential solution, introduced in February, as a line of business within the Digital Products Group.

Ziv-el joins Professional Examination Service from the not-for-profit Educational Testing Service (ETS) where he most recently was Senior Director, Strategy and Business Development. In his 11 years with ETS, Ziv-el played a leadership role in numerous new initiatives including the international practice of the Business Innovation & Growth Group where he led a strategy to address the needs of English Language Learners beyond the core assessment business. Earlier he co-founded an initiative to develop products and services for the family consumer market.

Previously, Ziv-el was founder, President and CEO of Discourse Technologies, an educational technology company. He also is founder and chairman of North American Friends of Oranim, a not-for-profit support group for Israel's largest teacher training and educational research institution, affiliated with the University of Haifa.

"Simmy has the deep understanding of assessment, product strategy and partnerships needed to head our effort to support customers worldwide and to meet growing demand for our digital applications," said Robert S. Block, president and CEO, Professional Examination Service. "He will manage the entire ProExam Suite product life cycle and the ProExam Digital Micro-Credential business. This will enable us to expand the licensing of our applications to those who wish to integrate them into their current credentialing efforts, either standalone or bundled with our other services."
