Electronic Item Development
PES’s Electronic Item Development system offers clients a secure and highly cost-effective web-based interface for the solicitation and review of draft examination items. The system enables item writers to develop draft items, submit items for review/feedback by designated item reviewers, and revise items based on reviewers' feedback.
The system enables item reviewers to return draft items to item writers with recommendations for additional work, and to submit draft items for further review or for addition to the item bank.
Finally, the system provides a comprehensive online source of item writing-related support materials (manuals, assignments, workshop information, etc.), and allows item reviewers and client staff to track item writer progress through multiple reports.

PES’s Item Banking and Examination Production system has been designed for use by trained test development professionals working in support of credentialing programs. The system offers unmatched capability in the construction of examination forms, pre-test, and equator blocks, and the analysis and tracking of item and examination performance; as well as unique functionality dedicated to the management of both English and non-English language item banks, and the facilitation of the item translation process.
The system also allows for remote client access for the purpose of bank searches and report production. Examples of reports available through the system include the following:

- Graphical representation of examination attributes
- Version history of an item over time
- Items by key word

PES’s ItemStat® is a software to analyze and report on the statistical reliability of a licensure or certification examination. ItemStat® is unique in its ability to analyze a wide range of data types, and is capable of analyzing data sets that consist of exclusively dichotomous test data, exclusively polychotomous test data, or a combination of both.

ItemStat® is designed to run from the client’s own server or on a PC, independent of any external statistical package. Fully documented to guide the client on how to run the program, the software provides a credentialing organization with a powerful means of performing complex statistical analysis on an examination program in-house. In support of its clients who license ItemStat®, PES also provides ongoing psychometric and technical consulting services.
ItemStat® enables a credentialing organization to customize statistical analyses and reports to meets its specific needs. The program calculates - among other statistics - test reliability coefficients (both split-half and Alpha), standard error of measurement (SEM) for the exam as a whole, item difficulty, item discrimination value, and item/examination score distribution.
